Teacher Outfits

What to wear for teaching:

It’s best to wear professional and comfortable clothing when teaching. Business casual attire such as slacks or a skirt with a blouse or button-up shirt is a good choice. Avoid wearing anything too revealing or casual like shorts, t-shirts, or flip flops. It’s also important to dress for the occasion and consider the dress code of your school or organization.

Who said R-E-D? ❤🍎🍒

This red puff sleeve top fits true to size (wearing sz S) and features pearl accents and a mock neckline.

Paired with a beautiful red maxi skirt…it makes the perfect outfit for holidays, valentine’s day or date night outfit (in addition to a teacher outfit, of course).  And who doesn’t love a long skirt with pockets?!

Don’t forget the shoes!  These pointed red flats are super comfortable and wide.

They call me M-E-L-L-O-W 💛 Y-E-L-L-O-W (quite rightly).

This yellow turtleneck is the “tissue turtleneck” famously coined by J.Crew.   This has quickly become one of my closet staples.  It’s not a heavy turtleneck and has thin material you can easily tuck in and style with cute skirts, pants, and jeans for workwear!  Plus it’s great year-round because it’s so lightweight and stretchy!  I have it in 3 colors and counting!  **SIZING:  Runs big!  I went down TWO sizes to get a fitted look (wearing sz XXS).

This mustard yellow cardigan is the cutest for fall outfits!  It’s an oldie but goodie from Old Navy. Unfortunately it’s not in stock anymore but I found one the same color/length on Amazon!

Let’s talk about the pants...these flared pants are not only stretchy but soft. as. butter!!!🧈              **SIZING: run TTS.  I ordered a medium because I was afraid of them being too tight, but they are actually a little big.  I should’ve ordered my normal size small, so I would suggest ordering your true pant/pajama size.  They come in soooooo many colors and prints and I want MORE!  I seriously get TONS of compliments on these pants whenever I wear them.  They are so pretty on their own that you can literally pair them with simple items (black top, yellow top, etc.) and your outfit is made!  CANNOT RECOMMEND THESE FLORAL PANTS ENOUGH!  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (👈 my 5 star opinion, lol)

🎵💙🔹I’m blue da ba dee da ba daa🔹💙🎵

Blue has always been one of my favorite colors to wear! It’s a calm, happy color that goes with so much!  Kinda reminds me of my happy place…beside any body of water!  Anyone else?!

This stretchy blue pencil dress is PERFECT as a travel outfit, running errands outfit, or workwear.  It has ruching on the sides which helps because it allows a form-fitting dress to hide your midsection…can I get a what-what!🙌🙌  It runs TTS & comes in 14 colors – I am wearing sz small.

Check out my blue and white striped maxi dress–can you see it?!  I unbuttoned it and wore it as a kimono!  Makes wearing a ‘shapely’ dress more appropriate for work, church, or any shenanigans you might need to hide your baduschka for 😏.

It comes in 3 colors and fits TTS – I’m wearing sz small.

This also makes a great cover up!  I wore it open and closed over my swimwear this summer!  It’s super lightweight & stretchy!  Here is what it looks like closed…equally cute!

💜🟣It’s a purple world! 🟣💜

Purple just so happens to be one of my school colors, so I love to wear it teaching!  This purple puff sleeve blouse is super classy!  It fits true to size and comes in…wait for it…45 colors!!!

If you don’t believe me…just look👇👀:

What really steals the show with this outfit is the pleated skirt!  Man oh man…this thing is WAY prettier in person!  The material is beautiful and now I need one in every color.  It fits true to size and comes in 21 colors for your liking.

I’m wearing sz small in both items.

Don’t forget the accessories! I’m wearing my tried and true wrap bracelet from Victoria Emerson.  These bracelets are worth they hype and I wear them almost every day!  They make the perfect gifts, too!  Since they wrap-to-fit they basically fit anyone you’d give them to!  Plus I love the freshwater pearls and real leather.  Super classy!

For shoes I love to wear my Jessica Simpson wedges.  They are patent leather and super comfy if you want some height with the comfort of wedges (a.k.a. the training wheels to high heels).

It’s not easy being green….

I have to be honest….green has NOT been my favorite color to wear until just recently.  Growing up with a birthday in May, I used to wish I could have any other birthstone other than emerald.  Ah, to be young again with teeny tiny problems like this.  As I got older, fashion improved and offered wicked cute options that happened to be in said color…green!

Take for instance this pleated midi skirt.  I love the a-line shape and natural pleats with silky fabric.  It reminds me of the outfits I’d see in a beloved classic movie made in the 1940s.  Classic.  Modest.  Chic.  It has it all.  I’m wearing a size small and while it’s generally TTS, the waist is meant to be worn high around your belly button, so that part runs smaller than most skirts.

My top is simply a fitted J Crew T shirt.  It’s a staple in my closet and I own one in several colors!  What I like about these “Slim Perfect T-Shirts”  are that they offer thick cotton material that doesn’t wrinkle and the sleeves are the perfect, flattering length.  The sizing of J Crew typically runs big, and this shirt does too.  For a fitted look I am wearing size XXS.  I am usually an XS in tops that I want to be fitted, and a S in regular tops.

Don’t forget the accessories!  My favorite wrap bracelet from Victoria Emerson has freshwater pearls and real leather.  This bracelet goes with everything so I wear it often.  It makes a great gift, too (one size fits all).

My sandals make a great Tory Burch look-a-like and are from Famous Footwear.  I have these in three colors but definitely wear this tan color the most, because it goes with the most!

“Pink, it was love at first sight
Yeah, pink when I turn out the light”  … Name that song! (Aerosmith)

Who doesn’t love to wear pink?!  I’ve come to know, as a kindergarten teacher, that most of the time you’re either team pink or team purple.  I definitely grew up on Team PINK!

When I first saw this blazer, I just HAD to have it!!!  I came in a set with matching hot pink shorts from Venus.  I love this set because it can be worn so many different ways.  I can wear the blazer with jeans, with a skirt, or together as a set. Don’t forget about the accesories!   These silver teardrop earrings are lightweight and nickel free.  Perfect as a hypoallergenic earring for my sensitive ears!  They are made by Nickel and Suede and are made with real leather.  They are a little pricey (and worth it) but if you’re looking for a more affordable option, Walmart to the rescue!  You can get a 12 pack of metallic, tear drop earrings for under $12.99, which is only $1.00/pair!

And my pink blue light glasses are so cute!  They have pink, clear, translucent frames and a nice square shape that’s not too big for your face.  They are an amazon find! You’ll get a 2 pack for under $16.

Favorite shoes to pair with these outfits:

White slip on sneakers

Sparkly flats with pointed toe.

🖤◾▪Black.  It’s what’s for workwear.

Black is in fact my favorite color.  I have a black car.  My classroom’s color scheme is black.  Most of my clothes are black.  Having blonde hair fully attributes my decision to embrace such a dark color, I swear!  I don’t feel washed out when I wear black.  Light colors tend to blend in with my light-colored hair.

This teacher outfit is classy from head to toe.

Starting with this black puff sleeve top with a mock neckline, I can pair it with just about anything.  It’s ribbed and fitted which makes it super easy to tuck into skirts and jeans alike. It’s true to size (wearing sz small) and it comes in several colors–I already have it in white, as you’ll see below.  Definitely a staple in my closet.

This high waisted midi skirt is adorable!  It has black and white polka dots that are all scattered throughout the skirt.  It has natural pleats and ruffles which makes it so fun to wear!  TTS  with an elastic waist – wearing sz small.

For shoes (as seen above) I love to wear my Jessica Simpson wedges They are patent leather and super comfy if you want some height with the comfort of wedges (a.k.a. the training wheels to high heels).

My bow headband is handmade silk and comes in a two pack for under $10.  One of my favorite Amazon Finds!

My favorite wrap bracelet from Victoria Emerson has freshwater pearls and real leather.  This bracelet goes with everything so I wear it often.  It makes a great gift, too (one size fits all).

White on White. That is all.

This outfit is super simple so I’ll keep it short and sweet.  A white top paired with a white pencil skirt, white blazer and white booties….ta da!

My favorite mini cuff bracelet from Victoria Emerson has freshwater pearls and real leather.  This bracelet goes with everything so I wear it often.  It makes a great gift, too (one size fits all).

These silver teardrop earrings (as seen above) are lightweight and nickel free.

** To puff or not to puff…that is the question. And no…this is not a D.A.R.E. ad! 🤣🚭

These days the only puffs I like to see are in my sleeves, ya’ll!

❓ So tell me…are you into the puffed-sleeves trend or not?

Dress:  This adorable shirt dress is from Target! I love the length and comfort. It runs a little big (wearing sz XS).

Hat:  A staple in my closet for sure.  I wear it all the time!  An Amazon find!

Boots:  From Amazon and resemble the Nordstrom OTK boots.

*Here is another affordable option that I own with a true brown color rather than the camel.  I also own these in black and they are so comfortable with only 3″ blocked heel.

** If you’re new around here I’ll fill you in on my love for sleeping in late and staying up as late as I can!
When I was a teenager, the latest I ever slept in was 4pm and the latest I ever stayed up was 5am. You’d think I’d be used to the early morning routine as an adult but NOPE. 😂
Thankfully I have 22 little faces to look forward to each school day and THAT is why I get up in the morning, whether my body wants to or not! 🍎
